The other day I was in my office hemming and hawing about how I didn't want to go to a meeting.
I pitched backwards in my chair and said in the most dramatic fashion to my office-mate, "Oooooh, pray for me that this meeting gets canceled!"
"I pray for you all the time Lisa."
"Wait what? You do?"
"I put you in my prayers every night."
"What do you pray for?"
"I pray for all of my single friends. I pray that they will find someone to love them someday. And your name comes up all the time."
"Oh. Well thank you."
I actually didn't know how to feel about this. On one hand I feel that I must look pret-ty pathetic if someone feels that a higher power is needed to get me down the aisle. But on the other hand I want to shake her and tell her to PRAY HARDER because it seems to not be working.
